The Art of Romance

Sunday 16th February

1 pm to 3 pm.

Join us at the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery for a delightful and relaxing afternoon brimming with live music, captivating poetry, and mesmerizing art! Enjoy the melodies of a 5-piece jazz band, admire the stunning works of art from the Stockport Art Guild's annual exhibition and exclusive pieces created for this occasion.
Be inspired by members of the DreamWeavers, who will bring stories and poetry to life through their dramatic art and creative writing. Refreshments will be available.

Sculpting Workshop: Clay at Merseyway

Saturday 1st March

1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

A two-hour workshop exploring the traditional craft of sculpting with clay. Each participant will learn some basic techniques, tips and tricks to get making straight away.
Working with hand-building clay and no colours, you’ll study an image of your choice and start to work on form, structure and expression.
All works will be left to dry, then fired to stoneware, available to collect within 2 weeks from the workshop date.

Caravaggio: Illustrated art talk by Ed Glinert

Sunday 2nd March

2 pm to 3 pm.

Ed will give an illustrated talk on the leading 16th / 17th century Italian painter.

Art Demo: with Rob Wilson

Sunday 9th March

1 pm to 3 pm.

Rob will be demonstrating his mixed-media techniques, combining watercolour pencils, tissue paper, acrylic paint and collage to capture an iconic view of Stockport.

Art for All Day

Sunday 16th March
11.30 am to 3 pm.

Offers Stockport residents interested in art but with limited art experience the opportunity to engage in a range of practical art activities and to experience a variety of creative practice.
Activities include; figure and portrait drawing, clay modelling, printmaking and colourful painting, as well as a how-to-improve-your-drawing workshop.
